Xolotl is a god of Aztec mythology, he was commonly depicted as a dog-headed man and was a soul-guide for the dead.

Lake Xolotlán is the 2nd largest in Central America, but also one of the most polluted in all of Latin America. Almost 100 years ago the city of Managua and industries in the area started dumping wastewater in it, also the largest garbage dump in the country lies on its shores. Despite all, life persists in many ways.
